New Video Series Coming Soon!
Dan and Jay’s Comedy Hour will drop tonight, but in the meantime – announcement!
We’re a short time away from the premiere of our first video podcast, “Food Holes with Dan and Jay.” Starring your own Dan Gomiller and Jason Klamm, every other week one of us will challenge each other to eat a specific snack and, of course, try the snack ourselves. We have a simple rating system, as well. On a scale of 1 to 5, we rate the snack based on expectation and then, on the same numerical scale, we rate it based on grossness. Episode 1 will drop this Friday, and you’ll be able to find it right here, at DanandJay.com, every other week.
Episode 47 – Mustard, Inc.
This week, the hilarious Allen Rueckert joins us to discuss our first feature film, “Looking Forward.” While it doesn’t say “Dan and Jay’s Comedy Hour” on it anywhere, there are DJCH clips (some of which you’re already familiar with) in it, because it’s based on Dan and my actual childhoods, if only loosely. Also, Maury Povich gets a credit. That kinda seals the deal.
Allen had almost no time to prepare and, while the film is entirely improvised, he still became the glue of the whole project. Without his character, the story doesn’t make sense, and without his sincerity, the character was written very blandly. Also, Dan’s pretty good in it, too.
Pretty sure this is our longest episode, also, so enjoy this two-hour-plus romp through our brains and the process of making this film, which you can watch for free below.

Allen Rueckert and Zack Foulkes as Scott and Chad in ‘Looking Forward’ (2012)
Alright, kids, on Monday, episode 47 will premiere, with special guest Allen Rueckert, to talk about my first feature film, Looking Forward, in which Dan and I co-star, with Allen and a bunch of other insanely talented folks. It’s basically a Dan and Jay’s Comedy Hour joint, without the amazing branding. Here, for your enjoyment , is a full clip of Allen’s first time meeting Zack, which also happens to be their first improv scene together. Which also happens to be over the phone, because Zack was on the East Coast. It’s one of my favorite things that didn’t make it all the way into the finished film (there are several clips in it, though).

No Episode This Week, But Here’s Why
Jay, here. We recorded a rollicking almost-three-hours show last night with friend of the show Allen Rueckert. Allen plays what might be the most critical part in my first feature film, Looking Forward (which you can watch for free below), and that’s what he, Dan and I discussed last night. Needless to say… it’s going to be the biggest editing session I’ve had to do with this show, and I want to get it right, so in the meantime, watch the movie and, if you like, check out my first book, Looking Forward: A Hopemoir, on Amazon Kindle for the first time at bit.ly/HopemoirKindle.

Episode 46 – Black America
Dan and Jay discuss the short film that got Dan his first IMDB credit, in which Jay plays Conan O’Brien. They also discuss what might happen if superhero movies got ultra-ultra-misogynistic.

No Episode This Week – So Enjoy Our Free Feature Film
Since today’s a fancy holiday, we invite you to sit down and give a watch to our 2012 feature film, “Looking Forward,” for free. It started in 2004 as a fake presidential campaign for 2020 (& 2016), and eventually evolved into the feature film, which was completed after Dan’s move to Boise. It’ll be an episode of this show, eventually. It also contains brief snippets of some Dan and Jay’s Comedy Hour stuff, including something from one of our earliest attempts at a feature film.
