Episode 33 – Dirk Benedict

DJCH_033_SD

This week, we talk about Dirk Benedict.  Not the star of screen and screen, no the character we invented and accidentally gave the name of someone who exists.

Here are some of the original Dirk Benedict images:

Here’s a silent short film in which Dan plays Dirk Benedict as himself:

Here’s a trailer for another film, with sound this time, cut from footage from the above:

Episode 32 – Doily Echolocation

DJCH_032_SD

Dan and Jay are joined by Michael Curasi and the enigmatically-named Smike to discuss Dan’s first “side project,” with his 2-years-younger uncle, Jeff, entitled “The Rapin’ Jeff and Dangerous Dan Show.”   Not big spellers.

Episode 30 – Bleep Bloop Blop Robot – Our 1-Year Anniversary Show

DJCH_030

It’s our first anniversary show, in which the beer sponsors take extreme advantage of us both.  Or should I say “all of us?”  I SHOULD, because this week we’re joined by the amazing Boise-originating mind of Taylor Jessen for over two hours of some kind of thing that you might call mayhem.  We talk about a number of things, including our first viral video, Tunak Tunak Tun.

This week’s beer sponsors: JosephsBrau Dunkelweizen and Session Lager.

The Ho, Christmas Tree CD Will Be Released December 16!

Ho, Christmas Tree - Back Cover

Thanks to everyone who’s downloaded the album or bought the smallest comedy album in the world.  We wanted to take up this space on your screen to announce that the CD is coming out next week, Tuesday, December 16th!  It includes all 20 tracks and full-color art in one of those jewel cases you might just throw away (we recommend repurposing them as pill containers or as an inconveniently-thin gelatin mold).  The first 10 people to e-mail us a copy of their receipt will get a Toeloflex™ Band in the mail along with some weird personalized thing.  When you get your CD, e-mail jay AT danandjay DOT com.

As a reminder, you can download the digital album for free at: app.box.com/HoChristmasTree

And purchase THE SMALLEST COMEDY ALBUM IN THE WORLD at: ho.stolendress.com

Thanks and Merry War on Christmas,
Dan and Jay

DJCH COV 750

This week, the Comedy on Vinyl podcast and the Dan and Jay’s Comedy Hour podcast cross paths.  Right in the middle of wrapping up their latest sketch comedy album Ho, Christmas Tree!, an increasingly drunk Jay (Jason to you vinyl folks) and Dan discuss the creation of this, the SMALLEST COMEDY ALBUM IN HISTORY.  At 1.7cm square, the album comes packaged on a MicroSD card packed with the album and audio and video extras.

It’s also a FREE download, available at ho.stolendress.com, with CDs available shortly thereafter.   It’s a sketch album, naturally, featuring the talents of James Urbaniak, Philip Proctor of The Firesign Theatre, Jeremy Guskin, Allen Rueckert and a number of other wonderful talents.
